
Keerai Kadanchathu
Ingredients
Spinach-one bunch
Jeera-1/2 tea spoon
Garlic-1 or 2
Grated coconut-1/2 tea-spoon
Salt as per required
Mustard-1 teaspoon
Urad dal-1/2 teaspoon
Red dry chillies-2
Wash and clean the spinach,add very little water(as when pressure cooked spinach draws water from itself).Add salt,one or two garlic cloves,jeera and grated coconut to the spinach and pressure cook it for 3 whistles.Blend this mixture now in a mixie.To season-heat oil in a pan and add mustar,urad dal,and red chillies.Season the blended spinach with the above seasoning.Serve hot with rice
Kovakai Poriyal
Ingredients
Kovakai-about 300gms
Red chilli powder
Turmeric powder
Mustard
Urad dal
Salt
Oil
Cut the kovakai lengthwise.Mix it with red chilly powder,turmeric powder,salt and allow it to rest for sometime.Heat oil in a pan,add mustard seeds and urad dal.When the seasoning splatters,add the marinated kovakais and fry till for about 15 minutes until it cooks.Simple and quick:-).
